SPIRIT OF NORTHERN BOTSWANA HIGHLIGHTS - 08 Days

August 01 - Day 01: (3 Nights)

Air Botswana will carry you safely from Johannesburg International Airport, which departs at 13:00 am (ETD) every day, and arrives at Maun Airport, on the fringe of the Okavango Delta, at 15:00 am. Upon arrival you will be met by your safari guide and welcomed into Botswana.

We will have short final opportunity to purchase any final things, before departing Maun for our destination - Moremi Area - situated in the eastern part of the Okavango Delta.

This game reserve is ideally situated for a wildlife sanctuary. It has no fences, hence allowing unobstructed seasonal movement of game which makes this a largely natural area. This is a paradise for birds, game and predators alike.

Completely varied vegetation makes this area very special.

Within an hours' travelling it is possible to view the first of the wildlife inhabiting this area. We will stop en-route for a simple lunch of sandwiches and fruit, before continuing towards our camp.

Late afternoon arrival at our camp, with enough time to settle in before having our evening meal. Afterwards we will relax around the campfire, where your guide will explain the safety precautions and will answer your various questions in order to calm your understandable apprehension for the coming days.

We will enjoy the next couple of days exploring the Moremi Area with our days consisting of early morning and late afternoon game drives in search of various predators (such as lion, leopard, cheetah, wild dog, hyaena), antelope (such as impala, lechwe, reedbuck, tsessebe) and other game such as giraffe, zebra, etc and of course also the birds that inhabit this area. Hippopotamus are abundant in the streams and lagoons that make up vast areas of the Delta.

Upon return to our campsite around late morning, a delicious brunch will be served. Thereafter you have time to relax in/around camp. We will explore the Moremi Game Reserve in great detail, which is sure to provide many unforgettable game-viewing experiences.

Day 02 and 03 - Exploring Day in the Okavango Delta

Early morning departure from our camp in search of various predators. We return to camp around 11:30 for Brunch. The early part of the afternoon is spent relaxing and reading in, and around the camp. Once it becomes cooler towards the late afternoon we once again depart on a game-drive, returning to camp after sunset for our night in the wilds.

Day 04 - Moving Day:

After an early breakfast, we will pack our vehicle with our hand bags, camera and the necessary things for the day and start our journey to our next destination. We will game drive towards our next camp.

Picnic lunch will be served en-route in the shadow of a nice tree.

To reach our next camp can take the entire day or half day; it depends on which animals and interesting things we find during our journey.

While we crew to our next destination, the back-up team will put down our first camp, move and set up our new camp before our arrival.

Departing Moremi, we will drive to our next destination - Savuti in Southern Chobe National Park, one of Africa's most densely populated predator areas and is also well known for its sightings of bull elephants. The Savuti waterhole offers an ever-changing spectacle of birds and wildlife. Enjoy morning and afternoon game drives with leisure time to relax during the heat of the day.

Day 05 - Exploring Day in the Savuti Area

Day 06 - Moving Day

Departing Savuti, we make our way towards Northern Chobe National Park, which is the second largest national park in Botswana and covers 10,566 square kilometres. This park has one of the greatest concentrations of game found on the African continent. Its uniqueness in the abundance of wildlife and the true African nature of the region, offers a safari experience of a lifetime. Upon arrival at your third camp, enjoy some time to relax before setting out on your afternoon game drive activity. On day two here, we will enjoy an afternoon sunset boat cruise, observing the game coming to quench their thirst in the cool waters of the Chobe River. This river is the life-blood for thousands of elephants in the dry season as well as many other species. Return to our camp for dinner

Day 07 - Exploring Day along the Chobe River with morning game drive and afternoon sunset cruise
